
PATIA is sweet, sour and spicy version of fish curry which is hugely popular dish in the coastal regions of India.
Ingredients:

2 large Pomfret fish
4-5 Cloves
1 inch Cinnamon
1 tbsp cummin seeds
1 1/2 pod garlic
1 inch ginger
1 cup coriander leaves
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
7 – 8 Black pepper
5 Kashmiri Red chillies
3 Green chillies
2 medium onions
2 large Tomatoes
4 tbsp Oil
4 Dry Garcinia indica
Salt for taste

1) Cut fish into thick slices, wash and apply a little salt and turmeric powder and keep aside.
2) Grind all the ingredients from Cloves till Green Chillies and make a very fine paste.
3) Heat oil and fry finely chopped onions until brown.
4) Make puree of tomatoes and add to fried onions.
5) Fry the puree well, then add the above ingredients paste and fry well.
5) Add water if required,then wash the fish. After the first boil, add fish, dry Garcinia indica and salt.
6) Cook on slow fire until fish is cooked and oil float on top.
7) Serve with Indian bread or steam rice.
